Duo nabbed with stolen wire worth Rs 12 lakh

Bhagwanpur police arrested two persons for allegedly stealing about five tonnes of aluminum wire worth Rs 12 lakh of the company shifting the power line.  The accused were carrying the stolen wire in a truck.

It is pertinent to mention here that the highway has been widened from Roorkee to Mandawar. The work of shifting the power line passing through the highway was given to a Jaipur based company which had placed rolls of aluminum wire near a hotel.  Late on Friday night, two youths brought a truck and loaded the coils of the wire onto the vehicle. After loading about five tonnes of wire, the accused left the scene. The police was soon informed about the matter after which the police were able to stop the truck and nab the two accused. In this case, the accused Bijnor resident Vikas Kumar and Bageshwar resident Khushhali Singh were caught by the police. Bhagwanpur police station house officer Amarjeet Singh said that an FIR has been filed. At the same time, the police are also investigating the criminal history of the accused.
