DRT settles 111 cases involving Rs 56 crore in National Lok Adalat

National Lok Adalat was held at Debts Recovery Tribunal (DRT) Dehradun on Saturday during which 116 cases were taken up out of which 111 cases involving public money worth Rs 56.85 crore were settled. It was chaired by the presiding officer Umesh Kumar Sharma. The secretary/registrar Yogesh Kumar, assistant registrar Kanhaiya Kumar and recovery officers R P Singh and Hemant Kotial were among those who attended the Lok Adalat as members of the tribunal.

The presiding officer asked the bankers and borrowers to come forward for such amicable settlements in the future too. Yogesh Kumar said that this was the first Lok Adalat of the current financial year. “DRT Dehradun has received a good response from the bankers and the borrowers for settlement of cases,” he said, adding that Punjab National Bank had settled the highest number of cases in the Lok Adalat.
