Following the retirement of Dr V S Chauhan as the principal medical superintendent, the additional director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Dr Manu Jain is poised to assume the charge at Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital. Notably, Dr Chauhan had retired on May 31 after serving in this position for 10 months. Though Dr Jain has been appointed, he has not yet officially taken over the responsibility at the hospital. He is likely to assume charge in two to three days.
Importantly, a senior gynaecologist at the hospital working here since 2018, Dr Deepti Singh is currently serving as the acting medical superintendent. “I am discharging duties temporarily and will do so until the new superintendent assumes charge,” she said, adding that this arrangement ensures that hospital operations continue smoothly and efficiently. She has been conducting regular inspections and addressing any deficiencies identified during her inspections.
