Doon to get hotter today, rain & thunderstorm likely in some areas

The temperatures are on the rise in Dehradun and other places in the plains with the maximum temperature getting close to 40 degrees Celsius. The State meteorological centre has forecast that Dehradun will witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thunderstorms likely to occur towards afternoon/evening in some areas on Wednesday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 39 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Apart from this, very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the mountainous districts of Kumaon region and Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli districts in the Garhwal region. Very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Tuesday were 38.4 degrees Celsius and 20.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.6 degrees Celsius and 19.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26.6 degrees Celsius and 12.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.1 degrees Celsius and 13.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
