Doon records 4 more dengue cases, taking total count to 94

Four new dengue cases were reported in Dehradun district on Thursday. Informing this, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that two of them had been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital while one at Himalayan Hospital and the other one in the outpatient department (OPD) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. These new additions have taken the total number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 94, which includes 56 cases reported in Dehradun and 38 cases with travel histories from other districts or States.
Dr Sharma further said that there are currently 10 active dengue patients. “Eight are being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Himalayan Hospital and one at home. On Thursday alone, 164 dengue samples were collected, raising the cumulative total to 6,612 samples collected so far,” he added.
Further, the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 8,036 house surveys on Thursday to check for mosquito larvae. Among these surveys, 54 houses tested positive for larvae. The Health department has completed a total of 6, 87, 241 house surveys with 2,199 showing positive results. Similarly, on Thursday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 71, 016 containers of which 59 were found to contain larvae. To date, they have surveyed 43, 70, 216 containers, resulting in 2,711 having tested positive.
