The Nainital district magistrate, Vandana Singh held a review meeting regarding the preparation of Shri Nanda Devi Mahotsav slated from August 28 to September 5. In the meeting, Shri Ram Sevak Sabha which organises the fair put forward several suggestions before the DM. She said that the district administration would fully cooperate with the organisers to help people celebrate the fair sans problem.
The DM directed the executive officer of the Nagar Palika to start the tender process for all the arrangements from now itself and complete all the necessary arrangements at all the venues on time. Also, she instructed the executive engineer, Rural Construction department, to prepare the fair site. Further, she directed the officials concerned to have the dangling wires removed from roads and the defunct street lights repaired.
