DM ORDERS OFFICERS NOT TO LEAVE HEADQUARTERS SANS PRIOR PERMISSION

Angry over the absence of the executive officers of Srinagar and Kotdwar municipality during the road safety committee  meeting on Thursday, district magistrate Pauri Sushil Kumar instructed the district- level officers not to leave the headquarters without prior permission.

During the meeting, DM  took stock of the  accidents which happened  on the national highway and the state highways and instructed the officers concerned to ensure improvement of the identified black spots. He also asked them to have the accident-prone stretches widened. Reflectors must be installed on the roads too, he said.   He asked the public works department’s provincial division to submit a list of the black spots by  January 16.  DM also sounded angry over encroachment of areas under the limits of  the civic boards of Srinagar and Kotdwar. He asked for removal of all encroachments in a week.

Taking a serious note of the two-wheeler riders not caring to don helmet and indulging in triple riding, he expressed annoyance over no checking drive being conducted    in Srinagar and Kotdwar.

Among those present at the meeting were the additional district magistrate Ranjee Sharan Sharma, SDM Pauri K S Negi and the district education officer Hare Ram Yadav.
