In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Uttarkashi district magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht gave direction for strict action against those who are creating chaos in the operation of horses, mules and dandi-kandi on the Yamunotri pedestrian route. Acting on the DM’s directive, the sub-divisional magistrate Dunda Nawazish Khaliq issued a show cause notice to the porter contractor of Jankichatti, warning termination of the contract.
Along with this, instructions were given to take legal action against those found overcharging the pilgrims flouting the administration-fixed rates.
