The Tehri district magistrate, Mayur Dixit convened a meeting with the Lakhwar Dam- affected people here on Friday. The matters which figured at the meeting included the acquisition of new land for the project, survey of the assets of the affected, increase in agricultural wages, reservation in employment and technical education to the children of the affected among others.
The DM asked the SDM, Dhanaulti, to coordinate with the departments concerned and survey all the places associated with the project in a month. Besides, L&T Construction which had been awarded the contract of the Lakhwar multipurpose project to contact the displaced people for appointing them in skilled and unskilled works and also to interview their children.
Among those present at the meeting were the ADM, Avdhesh Kumar; SDM, Dhanaulti, Manju Rajput, V M Srivastava from L-T Construction and functionaries of Lakhwar Dam Affected Committee.
