Diwali Bonus for 2 Lakh employees released

Non Gazetted employees to receive bonus of Rs 7,000

Acting promptly on the declaration of chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the state administration released the order of Diwali bonus to the government employees of Uttarakhand on Tuesday. The CM Rawat had made the announcement of the bonus at Gairsain on the occasion of state foundation day on Monday.

The finance secretary Amit Singh Negi released the order of bonus for all non gazetted employees. As per the order all the employees would be paid bonus of one month however its upper limit would be Rs 7,000 per employee. About two lakh employees of state government, local bodies, corporations and others would be benefited by the gesture. The largesse is expected to cost more than Rs 150 Crore on the state exchequer.

It is worth mentioning here that the Uttarakhand government grants Diwali bonus to all its employees from the last many years. However the apprehensions on bonus were being raised this year in view of the pandemic of Covid-19.
