The state health department reported the death of one patient and 38 new cases of the Covid-19 on Wednesday. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,44,881 while a total of 3,31,043 patients have recovered from the disease so far. One patient of Covid-19 was reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Wednesday which increased the death toll from the disease to 7417 in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.99 per cent while the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was 0.19 per cent. The state health department reported 21 new patients from Dehradun, nine from Pithoragarh, six from Nainital, five from Pauri, two from Udham Singh Nagar and one from Bageshwar on Wednesday.
No new cases were found in the remaining seven districts on the day. The state now has 222 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 81 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 53 active cases of the disease. Chamoli and Rudraprayag have no active cases of the disease now. In the ongoing vaccination drive, 52,621 people were vaccinated in 997 sessions in the state held on Wednesday.
