Dhami visits disaster affected villages in Uttarkashi

Visiting the disaster affected Mando and Kankradi villages of Uttarkashi district on Wednesday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with the affected villagers. He assured all possible assistance to the affected families. On the demand of the locals, Dhami directed the district magistrate to start the process of resettlement of Mando village.

The rehabilitation should be started soon after a geological survey, he said. He announced Rs one lakh each from the CM discretionary fund in addition to Rs four lakh each from the disaster relief fund to the disaster victims. He also directed the district magistrate to take necessary action for rehabilitation of the affected villages, work on damaged bridges and internal routes.

Cabinet minister and minister in-charge of the district, Ganesh Joshi and others were also present on the occasion. At least four persons were killed following heavy rains in these villages of Uttarkashi on Sunday.
