In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the hiccup-hindered evacuation operation at Silkyara having entered its 16th day, the rescue teams has roped in an artificial intelligence (AI) technique- based robotics system to add a new layer to the multi-pronged rescue endeavour. Those in the know revealed that the system will not just help the rescuers round the clock with the knowledge of the physical and mental condition of the 41 workers trapped inside the partially collapsed tunnel since November 12 but also send information about the quality of the air inside the tunnel. Aside from this, the system is capable of facilitating high-speed internet service inside the tunnel where mobile network does not work.   Sharing more details, the roboz dotin tech operator Milind Raj-known as the drone man of India- who arrived at the tunnel site from Lucknow to help the ongoing rescue operation said that this system can be inserted into the tunnel through the lifeline pipe and the trapped workers can send audio-visual messages about themselves for those outside. He further said that this robotic service is being provided free of cost to the rescue team at Silkyara, adding that such free service had been provided in calamity-affected areas in the past.
