The director general of police Deepam Seth said that the coordinated efforts among Police, Transport and road construction agencies are necessary to strengthen road safety across Uttarakhand. He stated this while addressing the closing session of the three-day workshop on road safety management held at the Uttarakhand police headquarters on Wednesday.

The workshop, jointly organised by the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE), Faridabad and Uttarakhand Police, was sponsored by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). It was conducted from Monday to Wednesday at the police headquarters auditorium. Seth said that such training programmes enhance the technical capabilities of officials and help in preventing accidents and improving the quality of investigations.

He added that Uttarakhand Police is committed to promoting road safety as a public movement and will continue organising similar initiatives in the future. The workshop aimed to provide updated knowledge and practical training on road safety management, accident analysis and scientific investigation to officers from various departments. A total of 33 officials participated, including 20 from the Police, nine from the Transport department and four from road construction authorities such as PWD, NHAI and municipal bodies.

The sessions covered road safety laws, provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Act, forensic applications in accident investigations and scientific approaches to traffic management and crash analysis.
