PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

The Education director general Deepti Singh met office bearers of Rajkiya Shikshak Sangh (RSS) on Monday and asked for additional time to address their demands. The RSS had earlier declared that it would protest on August 25 and 27 at both block offices and district headquarters with its members taking a leave to demonstrate.

The organisation members protested at the block education offices across the State on Monday. They said that Singh held discussions with the RSS regarding their agitation. The organisation made it clear that they will continue their protest till the orders regarding promotion and direct recruitment are cancelled and their demands are addressed. From August 28, the RSS intends to seek support from various political parties and social organisations across Uttarakhand.

The organisation has been demanding that the Education address its demands for several months. These demands include filling vacant posts of headmasters and principals through promotion, cancelling the direct recruitment process for principals and finding immediate solutions to other pending issues, including annual transfers.
