Devotees throng Kainchi Dham on foundation day

The foundation day of the Kainchi Dham was organised with fervour on Sunday. Large number of pilgrims paid their obeisance at the temple of Baba Neeb Karori on the day. Long queues of the pilgrims were visible at the temple from the morning. The pilgrims are offered a Prasad of Malpua and vegetables in the temple.
The administration had made elaborate arrangements for the day and the pilgrims were sent to the temple premises by shuttle service. The pilgrims were asked to park their vehicles at designated parking spaces and travel to the temple by the local shuttle service arranged by the district administration. Arrangements for traffic management, barricading, drinking water and toilets were also made by the administration and the entire area was monitored by drones and CCTV cameras.
A teacher in the government school in Sanchore in Rajasthan, Suresh Vishnoi who arrived in the temple after trekking 1,500 km told The Pioneer that he took only fruit juice and water during the journey. Vishnoi claimed that he started the march on foot on May 17 and reached the temple on June 15.
The district magistrate of Nainital, Vandana Singh said that arrangements for more than 600 shuttle services were made this year. She said that this year more than two lakh people are expected to arrive in Kainchi Dham.
The senior superintendent of police Nainital, PN Meena and other officers of administration and police remained present inside the temple premises on the day.
