Tells Health Dept to remain prepared to meet the challenge of dengue, viral fever & malaria in post monsoon period

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that an effective mechanism for registration should be set in place in the government hospitals so that patients do not have to undergo the ordeal of standing in long queues.

The CM chaired a review meeting of the officers of the medical education and health department at the State secretariat on Thursday. He said that a system of online and token should be developed and the helpline number 104 should be widely publicised so that the patients can avail the benefit of telemedicine. The CM said that the officers and the public representatives should be encouraged to adopt the TB patients under the campaign to free Uttarakhand from TB. He suggested that for monitoring the Aysuhman cards, golden cards and cards issued by the labour department should be brought on one platform.

He directed that the health department should undertake an awareness campaign to ensure that information about different schemes of union and State government in the health sector reaches out to the masses. Stressing on the need for taking innovative measures for improving health services in the mountainous areas, the CM said that doctors should be encouraged to work in remote areas. He said that every possible effort should be done to provide better health facilities to the people at block and Tehsil level. On a stern note the CM directed the officers to ensure proper sanitation and availability of quality food in the hospitals. He said that diseases like dengue, viral fever and malaria are more prevalent during the period after the monsoon and to meet the challenges posed by them necessary arrangements should be made in the hospitals.
