Rain and snowfall continue to remain elusive in the State while the plains are expected to witness dense fog and ground frost is set to continue affecting the mountainous regions. The high altitude regions of the State have been experiencing sub-zero temperatures but snowfall and rain are still awaited in the region. The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar districts and plains of Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun districts on Sunday. Ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 23 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 23 degrees Celsius and 6.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 22.6 degrees Celsius and 1.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 15.3 degrees Celsius and -0.7 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.2 degrees Celsius and 1.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
