Former Information commissioner objects to burning khaki shorts

Monday, 19 September 2022 | PNS | PAURI

The State’s former Information commissioner and ex-chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, Vinod Nautiyal said that by depicting the burning of khaki shorts, the Congress has insulted the armed forces and police whose personnel used to wear such shorts which are still worn by cadets of the National Cadet Corps. He said that during the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress, the party has spread pictures of khaki shorts burning to express its opposition to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The advisers of the Congress have forgotten that the RSS had already changed the uniform of its volunteers who now wear khaki trousers instead of the shorts worn in the past. Nautiyal who has been an active RSS worker for decades and held various posts in the organisation in Pauri has said that the Congress should apologise for its action.
