Dehradun police gearing up for visits of President and PM

Dehradun police are preparing for two major VVIP visits during the State Foundation Silver Jubilee celebrations. President Droupadi Murmu will attend the special session of the Assembly on November 3 while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the State capital on November 9 for the State Foundation Day event. In view of these high-profile movements, the police have intensified security arrangements across the city. Additional forces are being deployed and sensitive areas are under continuous surveillance. Police Headquarters is monitoring all key points to ensure smooth coordination among departments, the Dehradun superintendent of police Pramod Kumar said. He informed that a traffic and parking management plan is also being prepared to handle movement during both visits. SP (Traffic) Lokjeet Singh has been appointed as the nodal officer to oversee route diversions and monitor traffic operations. He said that all departments are working together to prevent any lapse in security during the silver jubilee events.
