Dehradun police arrest man for forging documents to apply for UKSSSC exam

The Dehradun police arrested a man for applying for the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam using forged documents at three different examination centres across Uttarakhand.
The accused, Surendra Kumar, submitted applications from Tehri, Haridwar and Dehradun using three different mobile numbers. Authorities discovered the irregularity while verifying candidate data for the written exam that was scheduled on October 5 for Cooperative Inspector Class II and Assistant Development Officer posts. Though the exam had been postponed earlier. Considering this, the UKSSSC sent a letter to the police after identifying a suspicious candidate.
Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that a confidential investigation revealed that Surendra Kumar, a resident of Kanakpur, Bhojpur, Modinagar in Uttar Pradesh, used forged documents to register at multiple centres. The documents included false certificates aimed at giving him an unfair advantage in the exam. The police examined all forms and certificates submitted by the accused and confirmed that he had deliberately attached forged documents.
Singh said that SOG in-charge inspector Mukesh Tyagi registered a case against Kumar at Raipur police station for attempted fraud to gain unfair advantage in the examination. The accused was taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, Kumar stated that he lives in Pilkhuwa, Hapur with his parents and wife. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and works as a teacher at a private school in Pilkhuwa, where his wife also works as a teacher.
He said that he applied to multiple exam centres by misrepresenting his age to meet eligibility requirements. Police also recovered a copy of a Uttarakhand domicile certificate from him. Kumar was arrested at the site following the questioning, the SSP said.
