Expressing concern and suspicion on surprisingly low less infection rate (IR) in Haridwar district during the Kumbh period the noted health expert and the founder of Social Development for  Communities (SDC) foundation Anoop Nautiyal has said that a third party data audit of Covid-19 in Haridwar should be done. He said that the data of the state health department shows that Haridwar reported an infection rate of 1.7 percent from April 1 to 19. The Kumbh in Haridwar officially started on April 1. Nautiyal said that the IR of the remaining 12 districts of Uttarakhand during this period comes out to be 8.33 per cent while the national IR in last week is 13 per cent.

He said that since Kumbh is a very important event and the data of the health department is used for making plans and policies the state government should order  a third party audit of the Covid-19 data in Haridwar district.
