Cycle rally held to link youth with adventure sports

The Kapkot MLA Suresh Gadhia and Bagehwar district magistrate Vineet Kumar flagged off an MBT cycle rally held in Kapkot to connect youth with adventure sports and tourism. About 40 youths participated in the five-and-a-half kilometre cycle rally. Flagging off the rally at Kedareshwar ground, the MLA exhorted the youth of the area to make adventure sports and tourism a medium of employment. He talked about developing the mini stadium being built at Kedareshwar ground soon and installing the national flag to inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the youth. The district magistrate said that along with developing water sports in Baijnath, work is also underway to increase adventure tourism in Kapkot. New paragliding sites, rock climbing and trek routes will be developed under the district plan. The administration is also attempting to organise an adventure summit in the district. Former cabinet minister Balwant Singh Bhoryal, former block Pramukh Manohar Ram, superintendent of police Amit Srivastava, sub divisional magistrate Paritosh Verma and others were also present on the occasion.

After the rally, a team of 26 members was sent by the Tourism department to visit Pindari glacier.
