Culture Dept to hold Kathak & folk dance workshop to mark State Foundation Day

The Culture department will organise a mixed workshop of classical dance Kathak and folk dance from October 29 to November 7 at the Himalayan Cultural Centre (HCC) to mark the occasion of State Foundation Day. Informing about this, the coordinator of this workshop, Sarita Singh said that in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, the Culture department has arranged the workshop under the direction of noted Kathak dancer Shivani Mishra. This workshop will be held free of cost at the HCC Nimbuwala, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun. She further added that students aged 15 years and above are welcome to participate. The workshop will take place daily from 2 PM to 5 PM. Interested candidates can contact her at 8979131119 to register. Once registered, candidates will be added to a social media group for updates. She said that they expect 100 or above children to participate in the said workshop.
Singh emphasised that the workshop aims to engage children in the celebrations surrounding the foundation day, during which various functions and programmes will be held across the State. This initiative aims to enhance cultural spirit among children and foster a sense of community.
