CS stresses on quality in reconstruction works under SDRF

The chief secretary Radha Raturi has instructed the officers concerned to prioritise quality and timeliness in various protective and reconstruction works being done under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund during a meeting held here on Wednesday.
In the meeting the CS emphasised the need for regular channelisation of rivers and flood protection works. She also instructed officials to prioritise the safety of the population in vulnerable areas, ensuring the safety of embankments and taking immediate action at erosion sites. Further, she urged officers to conduct regular ground-level inspections.
Raturi approved protective works for the damaged Kedarnath Yatra route under the SDRF, erosion protection schemes in various villages, flood protection works at a powerhouse and protective works for saving populations in some villages. Moreover, approval was given to various proposals, including a flood protection plan involving Bagul river in the meeting.
