CS pushes for sewer line upgrade in Dehradun

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan directed the officials concerned to develop a plan and set priorities for extending sewer line coverage in Dehradun. He said this while chairing a high-level committee meeting held at the secretariat here on Tuesday. Officials stated that the Peyjal Nigam granted approval for sewer line project in the State during the meeting.

During the deliberations, the CS enquired in detail about the status of sewer lines in Dehradun city. He emphasised the need to map the entire area of Dehradun and establish priorities for the sewer system. He stated that the goal should be to provide last-mile sewer line connectivity throughout the city.

Additionally, recommendations were made for the trunk sewerage scheme extending from Durga City Square to Kaladhungi Road in Atal Marg (Nawabi Road) in Haldwani, with an estimated cost of Rs 948.94 lakh. There was also a proposal for sewer network work in Saket Colony and Canal Road in Dehradun, estimated to cost Rs 905.80 lakh.
