Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that the Congress wanted the suffering from Covid-19 to continue and also questioned the vaccine in order to defame the nation. Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh also addressed public gatherings in Kapkot and Ramnagar constituencies.
Addressing a public rally in Rudrapur on Saturday, Modi said that large public rallies were made possible because Uttarakhand achieved 100 per cent first dose vaccination against Covid. “The Congress wanted suffering from Covid to continue lest the people praise Modi even more once the situation returned to normalcy. They also questioned the Covid vaccine to defame the nation. During the Covid times too the BJP’s double-engine government expedited development works in Uttarakhand while also caring for the poor,” said the PM.
He said that the BJP government is building highways and airports while new medical colleges and degree colleges will be opened. Remote areas will be provided with ropeway connectivity through the national ropeway development programme under Parvatmala project. Targetting the Congress, he said that those who never understood the nation’s culture are now remembering heritage and have suddenly remembered Uttarakhand’s culture. “Such people have come to destroy Uttarakhand. This time the people have to crush the intention for appeasement with their vote. You have to give befitting reply to all the lies and conspiracies of the Congress. People are consistently rejecting the Congress in all states- it has been out of power for decades in many states. Uttarakhand too has a chance to ensure this,” said Modi. He further alleged that promises being made by opposition parties are a bundle of lies. They talked of poverty eradication for 40 years but could not remove poverty. They forced the people to migrate and didn’t provide them free gas cylinders and couldn’t make toilets and provide tap water to them. Modi further spoke about the various developments achieved by the BJP government in the state and at the national level while exhorting the people to vote for the BJP to ensure a better future.
Meanwhile, addressing the public in Kapkot, Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that the nation is in safe hands with BJP at the centre. He said that the global fraternity which took India lightly in the past now takes the nation seriously. Referring to the Pulwama and Uri terror attacks he said that at a high level meeting called by PM Narendra Modi after the incidents, the decision to carry out surgical strike was taken in five minutes. He also spoke of the bravery of India soldiers against the Chinese army in Galwan. Stating that the BJP does what it promises, he referred to abrogation of article 370 and construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya while stating that corruption prevailed during the Congress era. Singh said that the Congress government had discontinued the special status granted to Uttarakhand. He also spoke in detail about the developments facilitated by the BJP government in Uttarakhand.
