Covid-19 Vaccination: 27,888 vaccinated on Friday

In the ongoing vaccination drive, 27,888 people were vaccinated in different parts of the state on Friday.  In the state 77,903 people have been fully vaccinated so far as they have received both the first and second dose of the vaccine. A total of 77,552 senior citizens (60 Plus) have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state. Similarly 5,002 persons in the age group of 45-59 years having co-morbidity have been vaccinated. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said 382 vaccine sessions were organised in different parts of the state on Friday. In Dehradun 69 vaccine sessions were organised in which 5,597 senior citizens, 215 people with co-morbidity, 867 healthcare workers and 740 frontline workers were vaccinated on the day. Similarly 3,439 senior citizens, 335 persons with co-morbidity, 309 health care workers and 8,528 front line workers were vaccinated in 125 vaccine sessions in Haridwar district.

Meanwhile the state health department reported 66 new cases of the disease on Friday which increased the tally of the disease to 97,700. Death of two patients was reported by the department on the day which increased the death toll in the state to 1700. The authorities discharged 68 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on Friday. A total of 93,952 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far and the recovery percentage is now at 96.16. The state health department reported 23 new cases of the disease from Haridwar, 21 from Nainital, 11 from Dehradun, three each from Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri, two each from Bageshwar and Rudraprayag and one from Tehri on the day. No new case was reported from Almora, Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi districts on Friday.  The state now has 638 active patients of the disease. Nainital district is at the top of the table of active cases of the disease with 196 patients, Haridwar 189, Dehradun 108, Udham Singh Nagar 39, Pauri 33, Champawat 16, Almora 12, Uttarkashi nine, Rudraprayag seven,  Chamoli and Bageshwar six each and Pithoragarh four active patients of the disease.
