66 new patients detected, 86 discharged on Wednesday
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients jumped to 2947 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 66 new patients of the disease. On the day 86 patients of the disease were also discharged after their recovery from different hospitals. A total of 2317 patients of the disease have far recovered in the state. The recovery percent in the state is now at a healthy 78.62.
On Wednesday the state health department reported 22 patients of the disease from Nainital district while 20 patients were reported from Dehradun. Incidentally eight armed forces personnel in Dehradun were also found positive for Covid-19. These personnel have recently travelled from places like Chennai, Jabalpur, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and West Bengal. One health care worker from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Rishikesh was also found infected with the disease on the day. Similarly nine patients were discovered in Uttarkashi, five in Almora, four in Tehri and two each in Haridwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
On the day the highest number of 43 patients were discharged from Udham Singh Nagar district.
The state now has 562 active patients of the disease. Nainital has 147, Dehradun 115, Udham Singh Nagar 68, Haridwar 68, Pauri 46, Tehri 35, Almora 20, Uttarkashi 17, Bageshwar 15, Chamoli 12, Chamapawat nine , Rudraprayag six and Pithoragarh five active cases of Covid-19. The state has far reported deaths of 41 patients of the disease with maximum 24 deaths occurring in Dehradun district. On a positive note the doubling rate in the state has become 46.72 days which shows that the rate of spread of the contagion has slowed down to an extent.
