Covid-19 contagion hits fast track in U’khand

1419 fresh cases, four deaths, 392 recoveries reported on Sunday

After showing some signs of slowing down, the contagion of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) again hit the fast track on Sunday with the state health department reporting 1419 fresh cases of the disease. With it the tally of the Covid-19 patients in the state has jumped to 51481. Death of four patients of Covid-19 was reported on the day after which the death toll from disease increased to 652. On Sunday 392 patients of the disease were declared cured. A total of 41487 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The percentage recovery for Covid-19 patients in the state is at 80.59 percent and the Infection Rate (IR) is at 7.19 percent. The doubling rate of the disease is 50.37 days. 

Three patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at Sushila Tiwari Government hospital on Sunday while one patient of the disease succumbed to death at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh.  The authorities reported 472 fresh cases of disease from Dehradun, 196 from Tehri, 175 from Udham Singh Nagar, 164 from Haridwar, 102 from Uttarkashi, 89 from Nainital, 58 from Pauri, 48 from Chamoli, 30 each from Champawat and Rudraprayag, 29 from Pithoragarh and 26 from Bageshwar.

Out of 392 patients discharged on Sunday, 158 are from Dehradun, 46 from Nainital, 37 from Rudraprayag, 28 from Haridwar, 25 from Almora, 22 from Pithoragarh, 20 from Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi, 18 from Tehri and 17 from Chamoli district. The state now has 9089 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 2771 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 1719 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 824, Pauri 660, Udham Singh Nagar 658, Tehri 623, Uttarkashi 535, Chamoli 279, Pithoragarh 270, Champawat 255, Almora 209 and Rudraprayag 162 active patients of the disease. With 124 active patients of Covid-19 Bageshwar district is at bottom of the table.
