Covid-19 cases continue to increase in U’khand

3,727 new cases, five deaths reported on Sunday

The cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) are continuing to pile up in Uttarakhand. On Sunday the state health department reported 3,727 new cases of the disease and death of five patients.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 4,00,401 while a total of 3,53,346  patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of 7,480 people have died in the state so far from Covid-19. The recovery percentage of the disease further dropped to 88.25 per cent on Sunday. The positivity rate jumped to 15.50 per cent on Sunday.  

The authorities reported death of two patients from Covid-19 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh while one patient each died at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun, Max hospital Dehradun and District hospital, Pithoragarh on Sunday.

The health department reported 1,264 new patients from Dehradun, 826 from Haridwar, 259 from Rudraprayag, 252 from Udham Singh Nagar, 220 from Pauri, 200 from Nainital, 159 from Chamoli, 157 from Pithoragarh, 101 from Bageshwar, 99 from Tehri, 87 from Champawat, 78 from Uttarkashi and 25 from Almora on Sunday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state has now increased to 31,310. Dehradun with 12,814 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 4,018 active cases of the disease which is followed by Udham Singh Nagar district with 3,952 active cases. Uttarkashi is at the bottom of the table with 255 active cases of the disease. 

 In the ongoing vaccination drive 15,956 people were vaccinated in 625 sessions in the state held on Sunday.
