Seventy one new patients of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) were reported by the state health department on Monday which took the tally of the patients in the state to 3608. Two patients who were positive for Covid-19 were reported dead by the authorities on Monday which increased the death toll to 49. On a positive note, 70 patients of the disease were discharged from different hospitals on the day. A total of 2856 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state and the recovery percentage was at 79.16 on Sunday. The health department has collected swab samples of 96123 patients so far in the state. Out of total samples tested 4.07 percent samples have been found positive for the disease so far. The authorities reported the death of a 55 year old male at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, Nainital on Monday. This patient who was positive for Covid-19 had died on July 12. In another death, a 45 year male expired in Dehradun on Monday. The deceased was tested positive for Coid-19 before home isolation.
Uhdam Singh Nagar continued its surge in contagion on Monday as 38 new patients were reported here by authorities. In Haridwar 11 patients surfaced while seven patients were reported from Dehradun district. In Nainital six patients were reported while five patients were found in Pauri district. In Almora two patients were reported while one patient each was found in Tehri and Chamoli districts on the day.
In Udham Singh Nagar district 39 patients of the disease were discharged after their recovery similarly 13 and 12 patients were discharged from Almora and Dehradun districts respectively. In Haridwar four patients were discharged while two patients were recovered in Pauri district.
The state now has 671 active patients of the disease admitted in different hospitals. Udham Singh Nagar is at top of table in the list of Covid-19 active cases with 220 active cases of the disease. Dehradun with 162 active cases are at second position and Nainital with 141 active cases is at third spot.
Haridwar has 63, Pauri 20, Uttarkashi 19, Champawat 17, Tehri 11 and Almora eight active cases of Covid-19. Pithoragarh has five active cases of the disease; Bageshwar and Chamoli have two active cases each while Rudraprayag has one active case each of the disease. The administration has declared 86 areas as containment zones to prevent the contagion of Covid-19 from spreading. Haridwar has 60, Udham Singh Nagar 13, Dehradun seven, Uttarkashi four and Nainital two containment zones.
