Covid-19 17 new cases reported in U’khand

Amid the world wide scare generated by the Omicron variety of the Covid-19 the state health department reported 17 new cases of the Covid -19 in Uttarakhand on Thursday. No death from the disease was reported in the state on the day. On Wednesday the department had reported 53 new cases of the disease.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,44,325 while a total of 3,30,566 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7408 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 virus till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 96 per cent while the sample positivity rate on Thursday was 0.12 per cent. 

The state health department reported five new patients from Pauri, four from Dehradun, three from Haridwar, two from Almora and one each from Bageshwar, Nainital and Pithoragarh on Thursday. No new cases of Covid-19 were  reported from Chamoli, Champawat, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts on the day.

The state now has 182 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 55 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 48 new cases of the disease. Rudraprayag has no active cases of the disease now. In the ongoing vaccination drive 61,699 people were vaccinated in 1004 sessions in the state held on Thursday.
