Covid-19: 120 patients discharged from hospitals on Monday after recovery
52 new patients reported, Covid-19 count jumps to 958.
In what can be termed as good news for Uttarakhand battling from the returning migrant triggered spike in the number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, 120 patients of the disease were discharged from various hospitals of the state on Monday after their recovery. On the day 52 new patients of the disease were also reported by the state health department which increased the Covid-19 count in the state to 958.
On Monday, 21 new patients were reported from Champawat district while nine patients were reported from Dehradun district. Similarly eight patients were reported from Haridwar district while six patients surfaced in Pithoragarh district. From Bageshwar district five cases were reported while health department found three new patients in worst affected Nainital district.
In a big relief to the health department, 122 patients were discharged from hospitals. In Nainital district 86 patients were discharged from the hospitals while 12 patients were discharged from Udham Singh Nagar district. Seven patients were discharged from Champawat district while six patients got cured from Covid-19 in Uttarkashi district. From Bageshwar and Dehradun districts, five and three patients of Covod-19 were discharged. In Pauri one patient of the disease was discharged. In Champawat district 15 patients reported on the day have a travel history from Mumbai while two had recently returned from Delhi. In Haridwar district all the eight positive patients reported on the day have a travel history from Mumbai.
The additional secretary, state health department, Yugal Kishore Pant said that reports of 730 samples were found negative for the disease on Monday. He added that reports of 6417 samples are still awaited by the department. On Monday, a total of 993 samples were collected for COVID -19 testing. The authorities have so far taken swab samples of 31703 suspected patients for COVID-19 test. Out of the total samples taken, 3.82 percent samples have been found positive for the disease. A total of 1792092 people have so far downloaded the ‘Aarogya Setu App’ on their smart phones. The doubling rate of disease in the state is 5.51 days. The recovery percent in the state jumped from 11.24 percent on Sunday to 21.53 percent after discharge of 122 patients on Monday.
Uttarakhand now has 727 active cases of the disease. Pushing the Nainital district from the top of the table of active patients to second spot, Dehradun with 194 active cases came on the first position on Monday . Nainital now has 153 active cases. The Tehri district is at third spot with 77 active cases while Haridwar has 69 active patients of the disease. Almora district is closing on to Haridwar with 60 active cases while Udham Singh Nagar has 43 active patients. Pauri and Pithoragarh districts have 29 and 27 active cases respectively. Champawat district now has 26 active cases. Uttarkashi district has 14 active cases while Bageshwar and Chamoli districts have 16 and 13 active cases of the disease respectively. Rudraprayag district is at bottom with six active patients of the disease.
