Covid-19; 12 new cases, 34 recoveries in U’khand

The state health department reported only 12 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 34 recoveries from the disease on Wednesday. No death from the disease was reported on the day in the state. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,151 while a total of 3,29,361 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7389 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.98 while the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was 0.06 per cent.

The state health department reported four new patients of Covid -19 from Dehradun, three from Pithoragarh and one each from Chamoli, Champawat, Haridwar, Nainital and Rudraprayag on Wednesday. No new cases of the disease were reported from the Almora, Bageshwar, Pauri, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts on the day.  

The state now has 349 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 163 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 34 active cases. Tehri district has only one active case of the disease.

In the ongoing vaccination drive 67,453 people were vaccinated in 1165 sessions in the state held on Wednesday. As per the data of the state health department 68,72,255 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 22,52,254 have received both doses of the vaccine.
