Contempt notice issued to AYUSH secretary by High Court

The High Court of Uttarakhand has issued a contempt notice to the AYUSH secretary and sought a reply from the official for not acting on the orders passed earlier by the court. The case was taken up for hearing by the division bench of chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice Alok Singh. According to the case details, Dehradun resident Niraj Kumar Dhuliya had filed a contempt petition in the high court. The petitioner had stated that earlier on July 4, the high court division bench had ordered that appointments of the registrar and deputy registrar should be made in the Uttarakhand Ayurvedic University within a period of 10 weeks. However, this has not been done so far. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier the petitioner had filed a public interest litigation in the high court challenging the appointment of the registrar in the Uttarakhand Ayurvedic University stating that the appointment had been done in a wrong manner. In the PIL, the petitioner had averred that the person appointed was not suitable for the post of university registrar. read more posts… Thursday, 15 November 2018 | PNS | Nainital–
