Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Lacchiwala nature park in the presence of Forest minister Harak Singh Rawat and former CM and Doiwala MLA Trivendra Singh Rawat here on Saturday. A laser and sound show was also organised and the Amrit Mahotsav song was also released on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhami commended the Forest department for the Lacchiwala nature park, adding that it will become a centre of attraction for people of the whole nation. Appreciating the park, he said that budgetary provision will be made for the second phase of work on the nature park. Referring to the nation entering its 75th year of independence, the chief minister said that the Amrit Mahotsav being commemorated on the occasion will also mark the beginning of new India. He also recalled that a day before India’s independence day, the nation was partitioned to create Pakistan against the sentiment of undivided India. Dhami said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation has risen in stature around the world. Stating that it was due to the courage and sacrifices of the armed forces that the people of the nation are feeling secure, he said that they have successfully faced the challenges posed by China and Pakistan apart from Covid-19. The world’s biggest vaccination programme is being undertaken in India against Covid while at the same time about 80 crore people are receiving free foodgrains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. On the state government’s request, the Prime Minister has made additional doses of the Covid vaccine available to the state- with 17 lakh doses being received this month.

Forest minister Harak Singh Rawat said that the image of the forest department had changed in the past three-four years with work being undertaken here with a positive approach. The Forest department is becoming a partner in the development of the state, he said. Rawat said that the Lacchiwala nature park is unique and will attract tourists from across India and abroad. The principal chief conservator of forests, Rajiv Bhartari, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan and other departmental officials were also present on the occasion.
