The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Congress of playing politics and spreading confusion on the anti-copying law and the Patwari-Lekhpal recruitment exams conducted successfully. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt criticised the statements made by senior Congress leader Harish Rawat and other leaders of the party, stating that the faith was revived in the recruitment system following the examination held recently. Now, only those who intended to indulge in malpractices during the exams and the opposition parties are feeling scared of the anti-copying law. The opposition parties are sensing that the political journey on this subject is being affected, opined Bhatt.

In an informal interaction with media persons here on Tuesday, the BJP State president said that the statements made by various Congress leaders on the recruitment exam held on Sunday were unfortunate. “The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission provided clarification regarding policy directions on the subject of the seal on question papers and leak proof examinations. Despite this, former CM Harish Rawat and other senior Congress leaders are making irresponsible statements. If they still have some doubt on the subject or lack information, they can contact the UKPSC. But, they will not do so because they have to play politics. Not knowing the law is no excuse for breaking the law,” said Bhatt.

Responding to the statement regarding deferring the exams till trust is built on the process, he said that trust is built through actions and not by talk. The Patwari-Lekhpal being conducted properly and peacefully is proof of this. Bhatt further alleged that the Congress is playing dual politics by demanding that the exams should be deferred so that if that is done, it can accuse the government of delaying employment for the unemployed. He said, “Instead of being thankful for the sternest anti-copying law in the nation being brought in Uttarakhand, the Congress is feeling scared and spreading confusion among the youth. Only two types of people need be afraid of this law- those who intend to copy or facilitate copying and those who spread rumours on the issue with ill intentions. The Congress leaders should make sure that they do not bring themselves into any such category,” said the BJP State president.
