The Congress appears pretending to be concerned only for 500 Uttarakhandi migrants in other states while the State government and the Bharatiya Janata Party are concerned about more than two lakh such migrants. Stating this, the BJP State vice president Devendra Bhasin expressed surprise at the memorandum submitted by Congress to the chief secretary. He said that under chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the state government is working on war footing to facilitate the return of all Uttarakhandis willing to return from various states. Of those migrants who have registered, about 1.15 lakh have returned so far. The government has facilitated two-month ration free for them, efforts are underway for their employment and arrangements have been made for their treatment. Apart from this, most of the migrants from other states who were in Uttarakhand have been sent to their home states. On the other hand, the Congress leaders are displaying narrow mentality by misinforming the public instead of cooperating in the governmental efforts. Congress leaders have limited their work to making statements against the government and submitting memoranda, said Bhasin. In the fight against Covid-19, instead of working for relief, such leaders have done more to create obstacles. The BJP state vice president further said that there is a competition in the Congress for making statements as the party is riddled with factionalism.
