Congress blames speaker for VS appointments mess

The Uttarakhand Congress has said that lack of proper homework and overenthusiastic decisions of the Vidhan Sabha speaker has resulted into a situation of crisis in the Vidhan Sabha. The chief spokesperson of State Congress Garima Dasauni has accused the speaker Ritu Khanduri for creating a major dispute in the appointments in Vidhan Sabha. She said that the speaker has also tried to mislead the people of the State. Dasauni claimed that this is not the first time when the speaker has tried to hide the facts. She said that recently Khanduri said that she has written a letter to the government seeking legal opinion on the issue of permanent employees of Vidhan Sabha but the fact is that the advocate general SN Babulka had conveyed his opinion on January 9 itself. Similarly the speaker used to steadfastly refuse that the Vidhan Sabha had approached the double bench when the single bench of Uttarakhand High Court had ordered a stay on the termination decision of 228 ad hoc employees but the appeal was filed in the double bench by the Vidhan Sabha. She said that the Congress party is of the view from day one that the speaker has remained partial in her action. Dasauni said that while talking about corruption free administration, the speaker herself has fallen prey to nepotism. She said that the appointments in Vidhan Sabha can be termed wrong on moral ground but taking action against only some employees is not justified.
