The veteran Congress leader, Ganesh Upadhyay has appealed to the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami to recommend Bharat Ratna for the legendary Narayan Dutt Tiwari to the Centre for his monumental role as an instrument of development. He also urged the CM to take initiatives for celebrating his birth centenary in a grand manner.
Further, he asked the State government to ensure that Kumaun University be named after N D Tiwari. “The birth and death anniversaries of Tiwari fall on the same day- October 18- this year. Therefore, this occasion is an ideal time to remember Tiwari’s contributions and take them to the new generation,” he added.
