The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has suspended the state wide Kisan Padh Yatra, the foot marches in support of the farmers in view of the natural disaster of Chamoli.
The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that on the call given by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the state unit of the party had organised many programmes in support of the agitating farmers. He said that the Kisan Padh Yatras were to be organised on February 15 but in view of the disaster and the relief and rescue operations, the PCC president has decided to suspend the programme. Dhasmana added that fresh dates of the programme would be announced once the situation normalises.
