Cong protest against electricity tariff hike, deteriorating law & order

In protest against the increase in electricity charges and deteriorating law and order condition in the State, the Congress workers staged a protest here on Friday. These workers led by former cabinet minister Hira Singh Bisht burned an effigy of the State government as a mark of their protest. Speaking on the occasion, Bisht said that the law and order condition in the State has deteriorated and a situation of anarchy prevails in the State. He said that corruption is everywhere and demanded that a high level inquiry in the Ankita Bhandari murder case should be ordered and that the culprits should be hanged.  Bisht said that people of the state are agitated over hike in electricity tariffs and the State government should immediately roll back the hike in public interest. 

Congress leader Mahesh Joshi said that people of the state are very angry on the manner in which the investigation in the Ankita Bhandari murder case is proceeding. He said that the name of Devbhoomi is getting maligned and a situation of fear prevails in the State. Large number of Congress workers attended the protest.
