GST collection of U’khand increases by 36 %

The State has taken an overall collection target of Rs 10,000 Crores this year

Uttarakhand has witnessed a robust growth of 36 per cent in its Goods and Service Tax (GST) collection in this fiscal year so far. The non-GST collection of the State has also increased by 12 per-cent. The overall tax collection of the State has increased by 29 per cent. 

The net GST collection in Uttarakhand in the financial year 2021-22 was Rs 4099 crore from April to December, which jumped to Rs 5596 crore till December in this FY. In absolute terms the GST collection has increased by Rs1497 crore. 

 The GST collection in the month of December was Rs 403 crore in December 2021, which became Rs 573 crore in December 2022. Similarly, the government had got Rs 1739 crore from the non-GST collection in the last financial year, which rose to Rs 1941 crore this year.

The Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal said that the state government is improving its collection from GST and non-GST (VAT). He said that in the current financial year till December, a collection of Rs 8400 Crores has been made out of which Rs 6200 crore is from SGST and Rs 2200 crore from non-GST. He said that the department has taken a target of overall collection of Rs 10 thousand crore till March.
