Cold wave conditions likely along with dense fog in plains

Uttarakhand continues to suffer from the lack of rain and snowfall coupled with dry cold with the weather expected to remain the same during the next few days. The plains continue to suffer from dense fog and considerable cold while the mountainous regions and foothills are witnessing ground frost along with the cold.

The State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of cold wave conditions likely to occur at isolated places in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Monday. Dense fog is likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar districts and plains of Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun districts today. Further, ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 22 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various locations in the State on Sunday were 21.6 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 19.8 degrees Celsius and 1.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.3 degrees Celsius and 1.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.6 degrees Celsius and two degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
