DM instructs Red Cross Society to raise awareness about Covid-19 vaccination

In the face of misleading widespread rumours against Covid-19 vaccine shots, the Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava instructed district Red Cross Society (RCS) to raise awareness vis-à-vis vaccine among the people across the district.

In the annual meeting of district RCS headed by DM Srivastava on Wednesday, the members discussed the commencement of awareness programmes in the district about Covid-19 contagion and vaccine. Srivastava stated that since schools will possibly reopen from the next month, the RCS should start raising awareness among school children about taking precautionary measures against Covid-19 contagion. He also directed society members to train maximum people in the district to provide first-aid treatment, especially in remote areas so that they can get medical attention immediately whenever they need. Moreover, DM also pointed out that since widespread rumours about Covid-19 vaccination can mislead people into not taking Covid-19 shots in future, the RCS should emphasise on raising awareness in the district, especially among the residents of rural areas by providing them with proper information about the vaccine.
