The chief medical superintendent of the Rudrapur District Hospital, Dr R K Sinha made an on-site inspection of the emergency arrangements made in the government-run health facility in view of the possible disaster-like situations during the summer and upcoming rainy season. The hospital sources said that he closely observed the medicine storage, trauma care, ICU and blood bank of the hospital and directed to prepare additional beds for disaster victims and burn patients.
He urged the hospital management, doctors and staff to prepare themselves to provide fast and effective medical services in any disaster situation. Also, he stressed on generator backup, ambulance preparedness and effectiveness of referral system in the hospital.
