Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Technical Education department officials to provide training to the State’s youth in various trades as per the demand of industrial institutions while chairing a virtual review meeting of the department. CM said that priority should be given to the training programmes based on cutting-edge subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics while laying stress on maximum number of trainees getting employment opportunities through campus placement. Besides, students should be taken on educational tours to industries so that they get practical experience, Dhami said.
Also, he laid emphasis on collaboration with technical institutes like IIT Roorkee.
Among those who attended the meeting were the Technical Education minister, Subodh Uniyal; chief secretary, Anand Bardhan; R K Sudhanshu; R Meenakshi Sundaram and Ranjit Sinha.
