CM sowing paddy, an event management gimmick: Congress

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ploughing a field and participating in sowing of paddy at his village in Khatima is an event management exercise in a futile attempt to polish the CM’s image, said the president of social media cell of Uttarakhand Congress, Vikas Negi. He said that the BJP government of Uttarakhand has become dependent on only cameras, advertisements and event management exercises.

Negi said that the government is not at all serious on the issues related to the general public and the CM is making use of media and cameras to polish his image.

He said that on one hand Congress leader and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is trying to find ground realities by going to the farmers, Uttarakhand CM is engaged in photo shoot and propaganda politics.  He said that going for some time in the field and standing in front of cameras is not a solution for the problems being faced by the farmers.

Negi added that instead of focussing on development, the BJP government has focussed on its branding by spending crores of rupees in advertisements. The general public is reeling under price rise, unemployment and pathetic health services.

“Congress opposes this kind of hollow politics and firmly believes in politics associated with ground realities. The people have understood as to who is engaged in gimmicks and who is working on real issues, “he said.
