CM RECALLS AMBEDKAR’S ROLE IN SHAPING SOCIETY

Saturday, 14 April 2018 | PNS | Dehradun — As part of the ‘Samrasta campaign;, the activists of Youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organised a community feast programme at community hall located at Mohini road here on Friday. The programme organised on the eve of the birth anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar was attended by large number of party leaders including State Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the Baba Saheb Ambedkar played a major role in shaping the Indian Constitution and society. He said that taking inspiration from the principles shown by Ambedkar, the BJYM is organising community feast under Samrasta campaign in all parts of the country. Under the campaign the morcha workers would convey a message of social harmony and equality of all religions in all corners of the country. Rawat added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly telling the whole world that we are all Indians and the campaign of social harmony should be spread keeping this fundamental principal in mind. He appreciated the BJYM workers for organising the community feast. The Chief Minister also had a meal with the party workers on the occasion. Effusing praises on the programme, the Rajpur MLA and BJP leader Khajan Das said that by organising the programme the Morcha workers are carrying the ideals of BJP in every household. He said that the BJP has always taken a lead in honouring the downtrodden sections of society which has elevated it to such a position that it is the number one party in the whole world now. The in charge of the Samrasta Campaign, Neha Joshi said that the BJYM has taken up the gauntlet to fight the divisive powers which are determined to divide the Indian society on caste lines. She expressed her gratitude to the party leaders and workers for participating in the feast in large numbers. In the programme, former Minister of state Chaman Lal Valmiki, Babu Ram, Ravindra Kataria, Sardar Jeevan Singh, Rakesh Tinka, Bhavana and Babita Sahrotra were felicitated. BJP MLAs Harbans Kapoor, Ganesh Joshi, Umesh Sharma Kau, Senior BJP leaders Naresh Bansal, Vinay Goyal, Sunil Uniyal Gama, Neelam Sehgal and large number of party workers were present.
